UPDATE: Klay Thompson finished the game with 21 points, so he moved ahead of Fred Brown (14,018) for 184th on the all-time scoring list.

On Friday night, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

During the game, five-time All-Star Klay Thompson made NBA history, as he is now the 185th player to score 14,000 points.

He came into the night with 13,998 points, so he only needed two to reach the milestone.

Thompson has been moving up the all-time scoring list this season and the next person for him to pass will be Fred Brown (14,018).

The former Washington State star has spent his entire career with the Warriors and was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Before helping the Warriors win the NBA Championship last season, Thompson had missed two seasons in a row due to injury.

Therefore, his comeback has been impressive, and in his first full season back, he is currently averaging 21.8 points, 4.2 rebounds 2.4 assists per contest in 62 games (while shooting 40.5% from the three-point range).

The Warriors have won the NBA Championship four times in the previous eight seasons and have also been to the Finals six times in that span.

In the two seasons that Thompson was out, they missed the playoffs both times.

Right now, the Warriors are the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference with a 38-36 record in 74 games.

They are on a two-game winning streak and 4-6 in their last ten games.

At home, the Warriors have been unbelievable, going 29-7 in 36 games.
