The Milwaukee Bucks play host to the Brooklyn Nets in an Eastern Conference showdown on Thursday night from Fiserv Forum. The Nets have a three-game winning streak as they head into this one, while the Bucks have their own two-game winning streak that they’ll be looking to extend. This will already mark the fourth time that the two have squared off this season, with the Bucks clinging to a 2-1 series lead, winning the lone meeting in Milwaukee back in October. This could be a playoff preview and there’s little doubt that this might be one of the most intriguing games on Thursday’s NBA slate.

Nets Continue Road Life

Having played three of their last four, as well as six of their last ten, on the road, Brooklyn continues their road trip as they aim to spring the upset. Struggle to close out February saw them lose four in a row starting the month, though they’ve been able to get back on the winning path, winning three games in a row coming into this one. Overall, they are 18-16 in road games this season and with three more road games to come, this is a stretch in the season that is likely to test them and shape where they finish in the standings. Offseason trades haven’t deterred their success since the trade deadline and with their eyes on the Eastern Conference playoffs, picking up a win against the Bucks could be crucial toward seeding down the road.

The Nets only have one absence, as Ben Simmons continues to miss time with a knee injury. While a big name, Simmons has struggled throughout the season to get going on both ends of the court. While an impactful player at times, his absence isn’t likely to actually make a difference in this one.

Brooklyn’s offense ranks top third in the league in field-goal percentage and three-point percentage, though without Durant and Irving, those numbers are slightly skewed. Going up against one of the NBA’s best defenses will cause issues as well. Since the deadline though, the defense has only improved, as they come into this one top five in a number of categories. The concern will be on the glass, as they take on the league’s top offensive rebounding team and will need to limit their second-chance opportunities. Mikal Bridges (26.5 ppg) has been on fire since his move to the East Coast and if he can continue to find success on the wing, it could spell trouble for the opposition.
