A horse racing jockey was left red-faced after his pants fell down whilst he was competing mid-race in Australia. Blake Shinn was competing Down Under at Canterbury racecourse back in 2015 when the mishap took place.

The then 27-year-old jockey was aboard Miss Royale and competing in the Hyland Race Colours Plate around the New South Wales track. Shinn was no doubt keen to get himself and his horse in the winners’ enclosure following the race.

As a result the Australian – who was positioned towards the front of the field – made a late charge for the finishing posts with the group tightly packed in a dramatic finish.

Shinn and Miss Royale were just pipped by winning horse Defender, but that was not the only drama as the runners passed the post. With the jockey keen to push on, he asked for a bit more from his horse as the line approached.

Whilst he had control of Miss Royale, one thing the jockey did not have a hand on were his trousers, as they slid down his legs as he went to cross the line. This left the Aussie with his bare-bum hanging out as his fellow competitors came in past the line behind him.

Jockey Blake Shinn was left red-faced

Speaking after the race Shinn admitted he lost control of his pants just moments into the race, and there was ‘nothing he could do’. Per the Horse&Hound, he said: “I was more worried about winning the race.

“The pants went just after the start and there was nothing I could do.” Revealing that he remained focus on winning, he added: “I think a lot of people are going to have a bit of fun with this, but they can’t say I wasn’t focused and went to the line.”
